About the Disaster Recovery Institute

The Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII) is a non-profit organisation. It is the oldest, the largest and the most globally recognized organisation of its kind in the world. For over 20 years DRII has set the standard for professionalism in business continuity planning and has provided the profession’s premier certification and education. There are over 7,500 active business continuity professionals from various industries and business sectors maintaining DRII’s certifications worldwide. These certifications ensure that candidates have an in depth understanding of business continuity. Our certified professionals must maintain their level of knowledge through continuing education in order to maintain their certifications.

DRII offers education in business continuity, disaster and emergency management at major industry events, in major cities around the world and through a corporate training program. Through the organisation’s International Affiliates DRII ensures that courses are available and are taught throughout the world with the same quality and consistency, regardless of the location. Currently, DRII conducts educational courses in over 40 countries every year.

DRII is an accredited Standards Development Organization serving on committees and panels that provide guidance to both private and government sectors in formulating standards and regulations. Our participation guarantees that business continuity professionals will have an active voice in discussions that will define the future of our profession.

DRI-Australia was established to promote and complement DRII's professional copyrighted BCM education and certification programs in Australia. All our BCM training programs are conducted under the support and guidance of DRII. It is our mission and commitment to educating, certifying and growing together with corporate institutions, organisations and individuals in the area of business continuity planning and management based on DRII’s best International Standards and Practices.

 

Community

DRI-Australia is committed to being an active member of the business continuity and disaster recovery community. We currently support the Continuity Forum and we are always on the look out for new community initatives to be involved in.

As part of a global network, DRI-Australia also promotes conversations and participation in the international business continuity community. DRI International (DRII) hosts a member community for Certified Business Continuity Professsionals. We encourage all our certified clients and course participants to involve themselves in the member community.
